On Saturday, June 27, 2026, Pillars partnered with volunteers, local leaders, and community sponsors to serve seniors and disabled homeowners throughout the Shorter, Alabama community. What began as a day of home improvement became something much greater—a reminder that every person deserves to feel seen, valued, and supported.

Why It Matters
The projects completed during the Shorter Community Service Event represent far more than home improvements. They restored accessibility, improved safety, and gave seniors and disabled homeowners greater independence—all while eliminating thousands of dollars in repair costs that many families simply could not afford.
More importantly, they reminded an often-overlooked community that they are seen, valued, and not forgotten.
Thank You to Our Partners
This event was made possible through the generosity of our volunteers and community partners. Thank you especially to Home Depot team for providing not only their support through grants and materials but also for their time!
Together, we are proving that when organizations unite around a shared purpose, lives are changed and communities grow stronger—one home, one family, and one act of service at a time.
Restoring Homes, Rebuilding Hope: Pillars Serve Tour Makes Impact in San Antonio
The 2026 Pillars Serve Tour kicked off in powerful fashion in San Antonio, Texas (March 5–7, 2026)—and the results were nothing short of incredible.
Through an inspiring collaboration with the City of San Antonio, Community Bible Church, Lowe’s, and an amazing team of local volunteers, we came together with one mission: to serve.
And serve we did.
Over the course of the week, we:
-
Raised $3,280 toward our $10,000 annual goal
-
Completed free landscaping projects
-
Restored privacy fences
-
Installed critical safety modifications
-
Delivered minor home repairs
Most importantly, we were able to serve four deserving seniors and veterans in underserved areas—neighbors who simply needed a helping hand and a reminder that their community hasn’t forgotten them.
This is what Pillars is all about.
We’re not just fixing homes—we’re restoring dignity, building relationships, and connecting communities through service. Every project is a step toward hope. Every home is a story of renewal.
None of this would be possible without our partners, donors, and volunteers who continue to show up with generosity, skill, and heart. You are the reason this mission is moving forward.
And we’re just getting started.

Pillars Wraps Up 2025 With Major Community Impact in Macedonia, Alabama
Pillars closed out its 2025 calendar year with a major day of service in co-founder Greg Manora Sr.’s hometown community of Macedonia— a small rural community located in the greater Montgomery, Alabama area. In partnership with community leader Mary Jackson, local volunteers, and skilled contractors, the team-built handicap-accessible ramps, replaced unsafe deck stairs, and cleared overgrown properties for five longtime senior residents — all at no cost to them.
Supported by generous contributions from The Home Depot (Chantilly), Lowe’s, Councilman Mitchell, and donors throughout the year, Pillars delivered essential repairs that restored safety, comfort, and renewed pride for vulnerable homeowners. Picture-perfect weather and strong community turnout helped transform the effort into a vibrant celebration of service, connection, and local unity.
As Pillars concludes 2025, the Macedonia project stands as a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when communities come together with purpose and compassion.
“To make a difference, you don’t have to be wealthy — you just need a willing heart and a desire to lend a helping hand.”
